The Box Moor Trust Visitor & Heritage centre is now completed in Hemel Hempstead. The new property replaces a listed building destroyed by a lightning strike some years previous. Combining traditional construction methods and natural materials with modern, the centre was planned and built to instantly blend in with it surroundings. We also made sure that the new building was environmentally friendly by adding a biomass heating system, wood fibre insulation and solar electricity generation. The entire building has a solid oak frame visible from the inside and is constructed to a ’Vernacular Heritage Specification’.
